Goodbye Impreza

So as some of you may have heard I was the cause of an automobile crash Friday October 18, 2011 at 5:00 pm in American Fork, UT at SR 89 and Pacific Drive. I am house sitting for a friend that lives literally 90 seconds(no I have not timed it) from where I performed 'Ode to Stupidity'. I couldn't remember how to get to her house so I pulled over and called her. She told me how to get to her living quarters but I thought she said to turn left on Pacific Drive so I was in the far left lane. When I came to the intersection I recognized where I was I knew I should just turn left, flip around in the Applebee's parking lot, and head straight thru the intersection. So I turned left...and failed to yield to on coming traffic. Which resulting in lots of glass. Lots of glass. In my pockets, shoes, hair, and even my underwear. Luckily no one was injured. I felt sick once I learned the van that hit me had an 18 month old baby as a passenger. I'm so thankful no one was hurt. Sure I had some aches and bruises but I'll take that any day over what could've happened. Besides glass, this also happened

My poor car is dead. The insurance company was supposed to call us today and let us know what they think it's worth(unfortunately I don't think it's possible for my car not to be totaled :( ) but when my dad called at noon they told him that lady left work at two eastern time so we won't know until tomorrow. Until we can get a rental car I have the great privilege of riding in my parents cars. I'll miss my car. I paid off the loan in April and am sad it didn't have longer to enjoy it now that I wasn't paying a monthly payment on it. I will miss it, but it's just a car, even if it was my car. I'm planing on paying even for a new car. I don't want a monthly payment right now and since I'll be leaving next September I don't see much reason for buying a super nice car.

Speaking of Australia, I haven't heard anything back from them so no new updates. School is school and I'm dying for this semester to be over, and pining for May.

December 16 I'm leaving bright and early in the morning to go to the east coast to visit my friend Christine. She was my best friend in high school(though be didn't go to the same school) and moved the summer before my senior year. She's been back to visit twice and I've never gone to see her so I guess it's about time. She's going to school at UHN(University of New Hampshire) and is graduating with a dual major in Equine Science and Business Management.

So before she goes off and does big people stuff I thought I'd go and do some kid stuff with her. We'll, see...Anywho, it should be good fun. I'll see some of you Thursday and others of you sometime later.

TGIF

Indeed, thank goodness it's Friday. I couldn't have said it better myself, or could I.....  These last few weeks have not been very pleasant. Last week I was preparing for a trip that I didn't actually go on and was super stressed about my exams this week. One of my tests was in my BioChem class, which I'm terrified I might fail. I started studying two weeks from the test because last time one week did just about nothing for me. Turns out two weeks doesn't do me much better. I just keep doing my best and praying that it'll be enough to pass. I don't know what I'll do if I don't pass. It'd ruin so many things...enough of gloom and doom.

I guess I haven't been keeping you all updated with the Australia business as well as I thought. I got a letter from them last week saying that I was accepted and that my Internship Program Supervisor (IPS) would be in touch with me shortly.  "Your IPS will be in regular touch throughout the internship to ensure that you find the experience enjoyable". I still haven't received anything from my IPS but I'm sure I will soon. I'll keep you updated, well only kind of apparently, when I hear more.

Some of you know how I'm retarded at setting alarms. Unfortunately I had to learn this simple fact about myself the hard way. Last weekend was a really big horse show in California that some of my friends competed in. The special thing about this particular show is that my friends were entered in a special division that not many facilities do anymore. I wanted to go and get the experience of helping my friends with this division because someday I'd like to compete in one myself. But I didn't set my alarm right and woke up late. When I called my ride he was already in Nephi. Unfortunately I had turned my phone off so I didn't get his phone calls wondering where I was. I couldn't find anyone to ride down with me so instead of dying by my very drowsy hand I stayed home. So instead of being at the coolest event ever and helping my friends out I rode Scout(a horse that I plan on leasing and competing with next summer, if I graduate), watched Merlin, and studied. Merlin is pretty good. I'm addicted now. Oh BBC! How you rob me of time with your television programmes!!! Sherlock is the other show that I really like and am waiting for the next season. I found a clip that those who are waiting like me will like. Ignore the music. It's stupid. But don't turn off your sound or you'll miss what they say.

I made a fool of myself earlier this week. A very rare occurrence but we all have our slip ups, though some of us less frequently than others. In one of my labs my lab partner, Lance, and I got together this week to work with another group, Rebbecca and ....Bob. So what if I don't know his name. I do now so :P Anywho, Bob and I were joking around when we were doing our experiment and he exclaimed that his name was Richard. Being around my dear Aunt Tara, I know the many purposes of calling someone or something Richard. I said that I didn't know his name was Richard and Rebbecca made some remark about something that I didn't get and can't remember while Bob looked at me funny. While he was looking at me funny I thought about asking him if he goes by Dick, thinking myself funny, but decided not to and probably blushed instead. Blushing is very annoying. It's about the same as wearing a neon sign that says "Look at this fool for free!" By the way, don't pay to see fools. There are plenty of free viewing opportunities on the streets. A little while later Lance turned around and said, "Hey Richard, can you go get the data for me?" and then turning back around looked at me like "yeah, I'm funny. I just called him Richard" Apparently I'm like Ted and can't read other peoples thoughts. Nachos anyone? *munching on nachos* I asked lance why Lance called him(Bob) that. Both Lance and Rebbecca looked at me weird and asked why. I said no reason but they asked again why. I asked Lance why he looked at me like that. They both looked at me very more weirdly and asked what and then why. I said that he looked at me like it was an inside joke or something. The puzzlement on their faces somehow intensified and they asked why again. I told them no reason and asked a question about the experiment. I later discovered, after finding an old homework assignment of Bob's, that his name really was Richard( and not Bob). Later as I was leaving I set my book down to unlock a tricky door, not to be confused with a sneaky mom. Once I unlocked it I turned around to get my book but as I turned and started walking away I noticed the door swinging open. Afraid the door would slam into the wall as it swag open I dashed for it only to find that it stopped nicely before colliding with the wall. Re-entering the room to get my book, I found Lance and Rebbecca with perplexed looks and lightly laughing thinking I was randomly exclaiming and dashing about the room in my coat and backpack. Moral of the story: don't ASSUME and never mess with TRICKY DOORS(or sneaky moms for that matter).

Tonight I'm taking Mik and Shay to play dodgeball at this trampoline place. A friend of mine has her younger brother visiting and invited us so it should be pretty good. Other than that just studies. Brandon Sanderson's new book came out this week and I will get in Monday. I'm very excited, but probably won't read it until the semester is over. Well, that's all for now on this very short post.
