So I have a sound for all of you and I would like you to listen to and vote on the poll next to this post as to what is making this sound :)
It has been sometime since my last post and I know some of you were getting antsy to hear from me. CALM DOWN!!! You know I'm not dead, or you would have been invited to the party. What kind of party would it be without you? I mean mean come on!!! You're like the life of any party, they'd HAVE to invite you!
Since that tropical storm that hit and made all that foam wash up, it's been pretty cool, compared to earlier. It has rained a lot as well. The warmest it's been since the big storm is about 80 or so. It's been really nice because heat and humidity s-u-c-k-s. Hard freakin core. Man...*yawns like a lion* I'm so tired I might have to do this later. Nah!! I'm no sissy just a sister!!
Life has been pretty good, I'm happy to say :) Living with the Reno's has been Far and Away more enjoy then the fourish months I lived with Maureen and Andrew. Reno and her husband, Earl, have been so considerate and nice to me :) I can't even begin to thank them enough for everything they've done for me and continue to do for me. This weekend they took me to some shops to see if there were any souvenirs that I wanted to buy and then bought me a meat pie. They are such wonderful people. I don't think they really understand how grateful I am for them letting me stay with them my last few months here. I got the money that my parents had paid Maureen for the weeks I didn't stay with her and my parents asked me to give Reno and Earl the money for food and rent and stuff even though they said they didn't want me to pay them. After slipping some money into both of their wallets Earl asked me to stop. My parents have been super nice and said that I could use the money to go to Sydney if I wanted to. So I am :) March 7th at 3:55pm I leave for Sydney and return back here March 10. I am staying with Paul, he's a Nu Skin employee that works in Sydney by day and takes poor American kids by night. I'm in the process of buying tickets to Fraser Island and will hopefully go there soon because my time here so starting to go by quickly. I officially have 31 days until I will be home. In five weeks (that's including this one) I will be home :) Happy days!! Saying that my time here has been pretty great :) Australia is a great place and if you ever get the chance to visit I recommend it. But, there's no place like home :) I can't wait to see all you wonderful people again, ate lovely food, ride horses, drive, bask in the non-existant humidity, especially when you have a visitor from another country at home to welcome you back :D
Speaking about Taylor's love for the French, watch this clip and laugh.
And don't forget about breakfast
One fun thing I got to do a few weeks ago was I got to go to the Australian Zoo. Luckily for me I know how to wrangle animals because some of the crocs there got loose and I was able to get them back in their enclosures. Reno was luckily able to get a photo of me helping out before I got it back in its pen. It was tricky work but with the help of the staff I was able to do it. I don't want to brag or nothing but I'm pretty much a natural born croc handler. Don't forget to want to look at my pictures. There are some pictures of the Reno's house and also of the zoo. If you really want, after you remember that you want to look at my pictures you should really look at them :)
One weird thing I've noticed is that it seems like the clouds move really fast here. Just staring at them they seem to roll on by before you even get to say hello. It's bizarre to me because back where you lot are(Russains, Germans, UKians, etc, etc. pretend you're in the mountains high above sea level) you'd think that the clouds would move by so fast but comparatively I'd say the clouds here at sea level seem to move more quickly. Strange Oz air is getting to my brain.
And now a word from the hostess:
"Kaiya would you mind boiling the water for me, I'd like some coffee." - Reno
"Yeah sure." - Kaiya, and begins to get a pot out.
"What are you doing?" - Reno
"Boiling water..." - Kaiya
"Just use the kettle." - Reno
"Oh, right." - Kaiya puts pot away and frantically looks around for kettle even though she knows exactly where it's kept.
"...where's the kettle?" - Kaiya
"This one, right here?" - Reno
"Oh yup that one! Got it! Do you want more water added to it?" - Kaiya
"Yes please." - Reno
Kaiya, fills kettle up with water and sets on heating pedestal. After heating device doesn't turn on begins fiddling around to find the on switch.
"Huh, Reno,.....how do you turn it on?" - Kaiya slightly embarrassed.
Laughs, "What?! You don't know how to turn on a kettle?!! What planet are you from?!" - Reno
"One where tea kettles aren't used I guess *barely gets out in between chuckles*" - Kaiya
"You flip the switch! *flips big silver switch that sticks out of kettle*" - Reno laughing.
"Yup. I thought it was something like that." - Kaiya laughs at own idiocy.
"Geez! You sure are from some sheltered world!" - Reno
"You know that's right!" - Kaiya
The moral of this story is don't ask a Kaiya to do anything you could do yourself because they always make it more difficult than it should be.
Today I skipped work, approved skipping but I'm still a rebel ;), and went up to Noosa with Jesse and Jess. Jesse is a guy from fresh and Jess is a girl from seals. They are a couple and are super cool :) We were going to hike a "mountain" but it's been raining so much they didn't want to go up. Instead we went surfing. It was a lot of fun but I wasn't nearly as good this time as last time. I got up twice but really poorly because both times I got up on my knees first which is a no no. They were much bigger waves than the last time. I also got thrashed a lot more than last time. I seriously felt like a towel in the dryer getting tumbled around. At one point I felt like one of those crazy flexible people that can bend backwards and touch my feet to my head. I was bent in half like that but then getting spun around in all sorts of crazy directions. But the best part is when I finally got my feet under me and stood up, after a second of not being a pretzel I realized my top had been washed completely down and both my boobs were greeting the world. I quickly fixed that situation and did a quick survey of the beach and only saw some people up at the surf club. So that I can sleep well tonight I am saying that they weren't watching me and even if they did happen to see that they were too far away to get a good look. Thank you terrible rainy day!! I tried a few more times but was too tired and weak to catch any waves. After that we did a five walk to a lookout in the national forest. It was beautiful. That is one thing I will miss about Australia when I come home. It is like paradise and to these people it's just life. After that we got brunch and went back to their place to watch a film on African animals. About 10 mins into it Reno called and said I needed to decide if I wanted to stay there for the night or come home with her because she had to leave early because the roads were starting to flood and be closed down. Jesse drove me to Underwater World where I was able to meet up with Reno. All in all it's been an adventurous day :)
We may or may not go into work tomorrow because it's been raining so much. *shrugs* Oh well! We'll see!
Besides having my first good meat pie on Saturday, that's about all I've got for you this time folks.
