Sea Bound

Hey there kids,

Yesterday was a good old day as well. But it would be kind of weird if you didn’t have a good time on the Emerald Isle. I mean, come on we’re talking about the holy gree rock of awesome craic! For those of you who don’t know craic is just means an awesome good time. That’s a bit of Irish slangy talk for ya. Yesterday started out the same with good ol’ bowl of cornflakes followed by a 20 minute drive to a sea town called Bangor. The Irish sea is so dark, cold, and salty! I saw crazy barnacles and stuff for the first time as well. We had a short coastal walk and then went into town a little bit and looked around an exhibit they had in this old abby. It was pretty grood craic like. Most the Irish people around here end most of their sentences with like like. We also went and walked around an old graveyard which wasn’t nearly as creepy as the one we walked around in Austria in Kelc, but that may because it was light and there weren’t any creepers staring us down this time. Well, Leo’s kind of a creeper but he wasn’t staring me down, he was looking at all the different gravestones. Before we left Bangor we had lunch and a little treat, a pastie with “chips” and a chocolate covered honeycomb candy bar. The candy bar reminded me of sea foam but not salty. Pretty grood stuff. I guess you can have vegetarian and meat pasties, this one was just mashed potatoes that had been deep fried. It was pretty tasty. Leo chipped his tooth on his but don’t put that off from trying one as they really aren’t that hard. I think that tooth was already done for because of some biking accident he’d been in. So Trist, you and you’re funky jaw should definitely try one some day! He also had me try a Sukie which an orange type drink. Kinda like Sunny D or Tang but better.

When we got back Mick called and said he needed Leo’s help getting his 4’ mattress through the 3’ hole of his attic.  Typical Irish, they think they’re really magic or something. We went over and his parents pretty much interviewed me. I have not been asked more questions about myself since I got here. Hopefully they thought I was good enough to date their sons best friend. After they used their leprechaun magic and a dash of Irish luck the three of us headed over to Leo’s house where he made bacon sanrys for dinner. They also bought some “crisps” aka potatoes chips that are made with famous Irish spuds. Supposedly they are the best chips I’ll ever taste. Taste like chips to me. After Micky boy headed home to sleep in his new 4’ mattress we watch Bourne Identity which to my surprised he had never seen any of them. But don’t worry Trist I started his edumication and he’s going to be learned about Jason Bourne :)
